This album of iconic oboe pieces is a long-standing project for Hélène Devilleneuve – principal oboe of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France – primarily because of the particularly strong connection she feels with each of them. From Bozza and his shimmering harmonies to the rarer Destenay, whose works are being recorded here for the first time in French, each piece shares the common trait of showcasing the warmth and luminosity of the oboe.
