Biography

A passionate artist and pedagogue, Hélène Devilleneuve is a laureate of several international competitions, including the International Oboe Competition of Japan. She leads an international career at the crossroads of solo performance, chamber music, contemporary creation, and teaching.

Trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, she regularly performs as a soloist and conducts masterclasses in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, at the invitation of universities, conservatories, and orchestras.

Her repertoire spans from Mozart, Haydn, Vivaldi, and Strauss to the works of Martinu, Ligeti, and Messiaen. Passionate about contemporary creation, she has been a member of the Ensemble Court-Circuit since its inception and is the dedicatee of several works, including Philippe Hurel’s concerto, premiered with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. She collaborates regularly with composers and actively contributes to the dissemination of today’s repertoire.

An attentive and committed chamber musician, she performs in numerous festivals in France and abroad alongside leading musicians and chamber players, exploring a wide repertoire from classicism to contemporary works.

In parallel, she serves as Principal Oboe of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, performing under the baton of the world’s most prestigious conductors.

Her discography includes Elliott Carter’s Sonata, Beethoven’s Quintet with François-Frédéric Guy (awarded the Diapason d’Or and Le Monde de la Musique's 'Choc'), and Boccherini’s concertos. Her album dedicated to French music for oboe and piano with Rikako Murata (Klarthe) received high critical acclaim.

As a professor at the Saint-Maur Conservatory and at the CNSM de Paris for sight-reading, she shares her expertise with young musicians in France and abroad with deep conviction.

Throughout her career, her focus has naturally expanded toward collective work. Today, she is increasingly involved in orchestral conducting and ensemble coaching, particularly for orchestral wind sections.

She is also involved in the development of Buffet Crampon oboes and plays an active role in the oboe community, notably as a board member of the French Oboe Association.. Driven by a commitment to transmission and accessibility, she has established a presence on social media, helping to bring her musical world to a wider audience.
